Case Study: Classic Drinks

is a very successful drinks distribution company based in Cork. They specialise in bringing select wines from across the globe to a large hotel and retail customer base here in Ireland.  They supply into some of the biggest hotels in Ireland and are recognised for delivering a great selection of wines that are sourced directly from the vineyard wine producers.
Hugh Murray, the Managing Director wanted something different online.  Their website was in his words, too mundane and lacked the desire his team have for the product they source.  He also recognised the importance of social media and wanted to integrate this into a new design.  Hugh came to Digital Eire looking for something different, custom designed and capable of showcasing the uniqueness of their service.
Through our meetings, we listened and then suggested a design that highlights the location, origin of the wines they source, the vineyards and growers they work with, giving customers a better understanding of their service.  We suggested that such a design would not only be a marketing tool, the website could also be used for training purposes as catering establishments could direct their personnel to an up to date source of information about the very wines they are selling to their customers.
The new design for the Classic Drinks website is divided into New and Old World Wines and visitors can familiarise themselves with the country of origin, the vineyard location, the soil variety, distinctiveness of a region and even visit the wine growers website.  The design takes advantage of the fabulous locations of the vineyards and highlights this with the unusual imagery Classic Drinks were able to provide.  This helps capture visitors’ attention as they consider the website and encourages them to stay and find out more about the company and their services.
The news section blog and social media Twitter are a key element for Classic Drinks as the team are constantly organising and attending events, thus in the new design we incorporated the blog and twitter on the landing page to encourage customers to use the site on an ongoing basis to keep in touch with Classic Drinks activities.

“We are very happy with what Ray and the team at Digital Eire have done with our website.  We have had a huge number of our customers and wine suppliers give us some very positive feedback.  I must say I found it a real pleasure to work with Digital Eire- they really gave us the time when we really needed to try explaining what we needed to express with our site”.
